Some time ago, Liliana Corobca asked me to write a chapter on transitional justice for a new book she wants to publish with Polirom sau Humanitas in Romania: „Panorama postcomunismului în România”. What was unusual about this project was the fact that this chapter was supposed to be written in Romanian — and my Romanian is very rusty. However, Liliana says it read well, and was not that hard to follow. We just agreed on the finishing touches yesterday, thus allowing me to move my attention to some other projects. I’m glad that my Romanian is not as rudimentary as I thought!
